According to UN data for the whole world, earnings from organized crime in 2011 amounted to a staggering $ 870 billion. In the EU alone, three years after that income amounted up to 110 billion euros, and some estimates went far more, depending on how far they went about defining everything that belongs to organized crime.
The magazine Fortune did not deal with the world in those figures, but it made the top list of the five most powerful, richest, and worst organized criminal groups. It’s about such powerful mafia organizations that their power is no longer measured only by money, but above all by the social and political influence they have on the most powerful countries in the world.
Solntsevskaya Bratva – annual revenues of $ 8.5 billion
The Russian organized criminal group is organizing completely the opposite, for example, to one Jakuza, because it is much decentralized. The group consists of 10 separate, but not completely autonomous brigades, which operate independently of each other. The organization uses its resources together; money manages the body of 12 leaders who meet around the world, often under the mask of celebrations and festivals. It is considered that they have about 9,000 members; their main activities are drugs and human trafficking.
Jamaguchi Gumi – annual revenues of 6.6 billion dollars
Actually it is a most powerful gang in the world, one of those called Yakuza. Their main activities are drugs, but also gambling, extortion, racket, and similar things. Organizations exist for hundreds of years, have a strong and extremely strict hierarchy, because of their power often take on themselves, in agreement with the police, some aspects of public order and peace in exchange for certain concessions from the authorities towards them.
Kamora – annual revenue of 6.6 billion dollars
In recent decades, it has been shown that the American-Italian mafia is incomparably less tough than a traditional mafia in its old homeland. In America, the mafia is literally not a shadow what it was in its brutal golden years. But Italy is so strong that four mafia organizations generate $ 33 billion annually. The most powerful is Kamora. It is earned on sexual exploitation, arms smuggling (remembering only the weapons routes during the recent terrorist attacks in Europe), drugs, forgery, dice, extortion, traditional ways of maltreatment of hundreds of thousands of people. Camorra in Naples was founded in the 19th century, originally as a prison gang in order to rapidly strengthen the protection and offering services as a force for political organization of the poor to the already impoverished Italian south.
‘Ndrangeta – annual revenues of $ 4.5 billion
The second largest criminal organization in Italy originates from Calabria. Less-more is about the same types of crime, only that Ndrangeta emphasizes his connections with the cocaine lords of South America, and thus grew into the main supplier of this drug for Europe. Sinaloa cartel – annual revenue of $ 3 billion
This is the largest Mexican cartel, and in that country, the hair on the head really raises in that country. For many years, such organizations have been terribly terrorizing Mexicans, their slaughter, either as criminal or as bribes, are brutalized by brutality. They grew up as an association of Latin American narco-bosses, especially in Colombia, with those from the United States. The amount of lucrative business is a 100-billion-dollar figure, how many Americans spend each year on drugs. Of this, $ 6.5 billion is earned by Mexican cartels, and among them Sinaloa takes as much as 60 percent.
