Suicide

There are different ways of bringing on the death of someone who is in an end-of-life situation. First is suicide, which is defined as self-killing. People kill themselves for a variety of reasons, and in many cases do so because of mental health problems. But the type of suicide situation that is relevant for us here is one which involves the three end-of-life conditions. Suicide , assisted suicide and euthanasia .

We all know what is suicide so we will skip that and go directly to other two ways of ending someone’s life.  A second method is assisted death, sometimes called assisted suicide. What’s critical with assisted death is that the third party only provides the death causing agent, and the person seeking death himself actually carries out the death-causing act. Spouses and family members, though, are not necessarily the best third-parties to assist in death. A third method is euthanasia, which literally means good death, and is defined as “mercy killing.” Here it is the third party that actually performs the death-causing act, and not the person himself who is seeking to die. Voluntary euthanasia is when a competent adult requests or gives informed consent to a particular death-causing action.

Efforts to change government policies on euthanasia of human lives in the 20th and 21st centuries have met limited success in Western countries. Human euthanasia policies have also been developed by a variety of NGOs, most notably medical associations and advocacy organizations. As of March 2018, human euthanasia is legal in the Netherlands, Belgium, Colombia, Luxembourg, Canada, and India. Assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, Japan, and in the US states of Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Hawaii, Vermont, Montana, Washington DC, and California. An assisted dying scheme in the Australian state of Victoria will come into effect in mid-2019.

One of the most shocking things in the modern world, and in the county like Belgium is the euthanasia question. We will disregard the issue of morality of this act for this matter and we will focus on the act itself.  You probably don’t know about it, most people are uninformed about it but in Belgium liberty regarding euthanasia has gone too far. Believe it or not, in this state, if you are a citizen of Belgium you don’t need the reason to want to be euthanized. You can simply go to hospital, seek euthanasia and they will simply give you the form to fill. You don’t even have to be ill or something, if you want to die Belgium government will be happy to grant your wish. It gives me the chills just thinking about it. That is a pure example of hypocrisy. Some people are seriously ill, they have severe cancer and they fight like lions even when there is no hope and in Belgium a perfectly healthy human being can be legally killed without any normal reason. Even more horrible is the fact that Belgium Parliament reduced the age limit so you can do this horrible act at the age of 16. The one who seeks death this way is the one who probably have bad mental health and instead to help those people country like Belgium is allowing them to be killed. That is just horrible.
